Ogiku Osaruonamen

Ogiku Osaruonamen is a Political Thespian, theatre and film practitioner, and community development advocate passionate about using art as a tool for social change. A graduate of Theatre Arts from the University of Benin, he fuses performance, education, and civic engagement to tackle pressing social issues such as drug abuse, youth disengagement, human rights violations, and political apathy.

His community impact cuts across several platforms: as a coordinator with Drug Aid Africa, he managed logistics and volunteer mobilization for medical outreaches in rural Edo State; with the Global People’s Rights and Values Observation Network, he led grassroots civic education on democracy and voter responsibility; and through Genius Hub, he used community theatre to engage secondary school students on child trafficking, gender inequality, and drug abuse.

Ogiku has also served with INEC as an ad-hoc staff supporting transparent elections, worked with the Nigerian Red Cross in emergency relief and first aid training, and directed faith-based theatre with NCCF to reach underserved communities. Currently, he is the Projects Director of the Edo State Literary Society, leading statewide initiatives to promote reading culture, intellectual exchange, and youth empowerment.

With a proven record of blending art, advocacy, and grassroots mobilization, Ogiku is committed to building inclusive, just, and informed societies.
