
OGHENETEJIRI RUTH DJEGBADA, ESQ.
Oghenetejiri Ruth Djegbada is a lawyer, strategist, and changemaker whose work cuts across law, education, and community development. At KELIC Education Foundation, she serves as both a member of the Board of Trustees and Head of Administration, where she designs and pioneers all KELIC’s programs, scaling initiatives that connect students to mentorship, scholarships, and career-building opportunities across Nigeria and abroad. Her leadership has helped young people transition successfully from secondary school to graduate-level education and into globally competitive spaces.
In her legal career, Ruth has been involved in high-stakes national cases in Nigeria while building strong experience in real estate and property investment management. She manages property portfolios for both local and international clients, overseeing transactions and long-term management. Beyond real estate, she advises businesses on compliance and regulatory matters, drawing from her wealth of legal and strategic knowledge to help organizations, including KELIC, operate securely.
Beyond her legal and academic pursuits, Ruth is passionate about environmental sustainability. She serves as a co-trustee of TEMFESS, where she contributes to initiatives that promote ecological balance and community resilience. She is equally committed to social justice, having provided pro bono legal support to underserved communities, including prison outreach and representation.
As an entrepreneur, Ruth’s participation involve fintech and legal services. Highly business-oriented, with an entrepreneurial drive that has been evident since childhood, she has developed a strong capacity for managing enterprises. She is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of BluuPay, a digital financial solutions company where she oversees operations, legal strategy, and regulatory compliance. Ruth also serves as a Director at Immaculate House Limited while managing her personal legal practice, providing clients with strategic legal and compliance advisory services.
Ruth is a recipient of leadership fellowships such as the JAMII Femmes Initiative and the LEAP Africa Leadership Accelerator. She also holds multiple certifications in finance, entrepreneurship, and related fields. Passionate about equipping others with practical financial skills, Ruth leads the Financial Literacy Team at KELIC Education Foundation and had previously served as President of a Financial Literacy Club.
Outside her professional life, Ruth enjoys meaningful conversations, podcasts, and music. A pianist, she draws inspiration and creativity from her art. She is a trailblazer whose vision and results position her as a global changemaker, creating opportunities, shaping institutions, and mentoring the next generation of leaders.
