ERNEST OGBOZOR, PhD

Ernest Ogbozor is a scholar-practitioner of conflict, security, and development, whose work bridges research and practice. A recipient of the Ford Foundation International Fellowship, he holds a Ph.D. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University, USA.

His research explores the micro-level impact of conflict and the strategies communities adopt to cope with violence and safeguard their livelihoods. His current focus is on household resilience to violent extremism in the Lake Chad Basin.

Professionally, Ogbozor has served with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) as a frontline humanitarian officer, worked as a research contractor for the United States Institute of Peace (USIP), and consulted in monitoring and evaluation with Search for Common Ground (SfCG). He is also the author of several publications, including “From Counter-terrorism to Livelihood Destruction: Factors Causing Systemic and Continuing Destruction of Livelihoods in the Lake Chad Basin.”

As a mentor at KELIC Education Foundation, Ogbozor provides guidance in research, critical thinking, and peacebuilding, inspiring the next generation of leaders to engage with global challenges.
